As the pioneering market for Volvo Cars globally, Johan Olsson, Chief Financial Officer for Volvo Car UK will share his insights on how his company is implementing a direct-to-consumer strategy that will ensure consumers remain at the heart of all they do as they switch from a franchise to agency model.
This will include an overview of the changing consumers needs he foresees, as well as how to find efficiencies and unlock value during a time of change. Johan will also talk about the CFO’s role in substantially changing a business model, where the Finance Division should focus their time to maximise value and what the associated risks and benefits to the financial statements are.

Alejandro is an experienced Executive with Strategy, Corporate Development, Finance, and Operations experience in the financial, technology, and logistics/transportation industries.
He´s currently the CFO of Higo/Sammy, a Silicon-Valley venture-backed start-up focused on payments services for SMBs in Mexico and freelancers around the globe. Prior to Higo, he was the Deputy Strategy Director at Grupo Mexico Transportes, where he managed the Operating Plan for Mexico´s largest railway network. He also worked at Bloomberg L.P. as a Sr. Strategy Associate, where he advised Michael Bloomberg on product & go-to-market strategy, organizational design, organic & inorganic growth, and competitive insights. Prior to that, Alejandro began his professional career within JP Morgan’s Investment Bank, where he participated in 100+ debt financings in TMT, including Facebook’s debt financing concurrent with its IPO.
Additionally, he´s consulted for fintech startups in Mexico, and worked at Mexico´s Embassy in Washington D.C., where he aided the negotiation of the USMCA treaty (previously NAFTA).
Alejandro holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA in Fin/Acct from the University of Texas at El Paso. He stays connected to his hometown of Juárez through Project Paz, a nonprofit that supports at-risk children, and as an active UTEP alumni member.

Allan has been in the role since January 2021 and previously had a stint as Restaurant Brands New Zealand’s Group Commercial Manager from 2007 to 2013.
Prior to rejoining the group, he had been Chief Financial and Commercial Officer at Loyalty New Zealand where the program underwent a successful and innovative transformation of the member offering. He also had senior executive roles at Abano Healthcare as well as number of senior commercial and finance roles in QSR, Healthcare, FMCG, Logistics and Marketing. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Business (Marketing) from the University of Auckland.
