James is a tech-savvy CFO with Technology start up and Financial Services sector experience and a passion for building & scaling high-growth PE/VC-backed FinTech and SaaS start-ups and SMEs.
James has spent a significant part of his career designing and implementing integrated financial systems, including corporate performance management solutions, BI tools and general ledger systems to enable businesses to scale rapidly, whilst reducing the level of manual effort, lack of automation and rekeying of data across multiple systems that is prevalent within most Finance departments.
James is currently CFO at Azur, an InsurTech business and Managing Digital Agency (“MDA”), based in the City of London where he supported the Group’s £13million and £5million Series A and Series A+ funding rounds, respectively, together with the recent sale of the UK and Irish insurance businesses to Aviva plc.
Prior to Azur, James founded a successful private investment partnership which managed long-only global equity portfolios for UK and Middle Eastern HNW clients.
Out of the office James enjoys travelling and collecting art.
