James leads Microsoft’s mid-market Private Equity business in the UK, bringing to the role almost a decade of experience across finance, consulting and technology businesses. He uses his expertise and experience as both investee and investor to help PE firms and their portfolio companies achieve the greatest possible value from leveraging technology in a world that is increasingly becoming cloud-native.
James spent a number of years working at J.P. Morgan and then acting as consultant to other leading investment banks, he turned his attention to the world of high-growth technology start-ups, helping to guide strategy and navigate management teams through the challenges of raising private capital. Most recently, James led the international expansion of a Softbank and Salesforce-backed IoT-focused scale-up, driving top line growth of the business while also positioning it as a compelling opportunity for private equity investors.
