Alejandro Muñoz Mendieta

Alejandro is an experienced Executive with Strategy, Corporate Development, Finance, and Operations experience in the financial, technology, and logistics/transportation industries.

He´s currently the CFO of Higo/Sammy, a Silicon-Valley venture-backed start-up focused on payments services for SMBs in Mexico and freelancers around the globe. Prior to Higo, he was the Deputy Strategy Director at Grupo Mexico Transportes, where he managed the Operating Plan for Mexico´s largest railway network. He also worked at Bloomberg L.P. as a Sr. Strategy Associate, where he advised Michael Bloomberg on product & go-to-market strategy, organizational design, organic & inorganic growth, and competitive insights. Prior to that, Alejandro began his professional career within JP Morgan’s Investment Bank, where he participated in 100+ debt financings in TMT, including Facebook’s debt financing concurrent with its IPO.

Additionally, he´s consulted for fintech startups in Mexico, and worked at Mexico´s Embassy in Washington D.C., where he aided the negotiation of the USMCA treaty (previously NAFTA).

Alejandro holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BBA in Fin/Acct from the University of Texas at El Paso. He stays connected to his hometown of Juárez through Project Paz, a nonprofit that supports at-risk children, and as an active UTEP alumni member.
