Robert Putzier

Rob serves as Managing Director of State and Local Taxes (SALT) for Grant Thornton’s Orange County practice. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing client engagements and assuring quality control in sales and use tax compliance, personal property tax compliance, compliance systems consulting, tax data processing, and general state and local tax consulting. He is also the West Region Sales and Use Tax Compliance Leader, and a designated firm specialist in the areas of indirect tax and personal property tax.

In his 36-year career, Rob has concentrated his practice on providing an array of SALT services and optimizing business strategies for his clients. He has launched two successful business ventures dedicated to helping companies manage all areas of sales and use tax compliance. One of these ventures,, was added to Grant Thornton’s SALT business operations in 2013. Rob previously held positions at several public accounting firms, including Arthur Andersen, Coopers & Lybrand, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Rob earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
